After years of writing, Arcwelder
returned to the studio with the assistance of the engineer formerly
known as Robert Weston IV. Actually recorded on the slopes of a
mountain, the project was slowed by the need to haul equipment into
the thin atmosphere, often as little as one take-up reel at a time.
Although Mount Everest is normally
considered sacred, the band
found Sherpas willing to undertake the massive project because, as
one said, "Arcwelder, man, they rock!" Unbeknownst to them,
the
entire recording was later lost in a freak shaving accident, so the
album was re-recorded at Pachyderm studio in Minnesota. As penance,
the band took on the massive task of writing its own press
information. Three years in the making, and worth the wait.
