Track Listing:
The Scissor Girls are noted as "one of
the best bands Chicago has ever
produced" by the esteemed Chicago Reader. Although the brightest flames
never burn long, we have much to be thankful for and plenty to look
forward to: First, something totally singular in vision, technique and
texture (Hope it's not too unique, kids):
Music for scattered brains: Azita's solo album.
During the course of our busy, fulfilling days here at Atavistic we listen closely and imagine the sound of a vintage 1940's western union telex machine whirring away under the influence of heady pharmaceuticals, compelled by ingredients both naturally occuring and manmade. There's an eerily clandestine quality about Scattered Brains... Strangely arcane, utterly personal music.
The Scissor Girls took a cue from the gods in the No New York Pantheon, then twisted their barbed-wire deconstructivism into the corpse of their elders' art. Music For Scattered Brains provides more irrefutable proof of Azita's distinctive vision, both sonically and visually.
