In 1992, I met John Gibbons (or was it Michael?) at work and offered him some recording time I had traded for. What came out of that recording session is still my favorite release to date. (Their first record, "Apple Eye/Die Easy" came from this session.) The recording seemed to be veering out of control, but at the same time, dragging you along with them, live, this was definitely the case.. unwilling suction, imbalance, and then a fall into a miasma of swirling sound. And the pot was definitely helping. And still is.
Several drummer changes and the reurn of Clint Trakeda, bring 1995 a new Bardo Pond, perfecting their wall of sound and making their live performances legendary.
Bardo Pond have countless recordings from two tracks, and up. BIG LAUGHING JYM is the result of a summerlong session with Art Difuria at the Frizz and later some additional recording with Andy Starr at Evening Star. This EP release has six songs on the LP and seven on the CD, both of which offer over thirty minutes of music. The CD includes the song "Dragonfly" from their second Compulsiv 7".
The Bardo Pond toured/played through 1996 with such super rockers as Sonic Boom/E.A.R., Chavez,Bailter Space and countless others.
