Really, what more can be said about Braid? Besides being one of the most amazing indie/math-rock/whatever bands around, and completely incredible live, they have recently gotton a new drummer and now have a record deal with Polyvinyl.
NEWS! June 1st, 1999:
After almost six long years of touring, recording and playing music together, Braid has decided to call it quits this August. It has been the greatest experience of all of our lives, but all of the work involved has taken a bit too much of a toll on our creative output and most importantly, on our friendship. So rather than sacrifice our care and respect for each other, we decided to put an end to exactly what was pulling us apart. This also clears the way for us to start anew and pursue other musical and educational interests.
We thank everyone that has helped us along the way, let us sleep on their floors, talked to us, or set up one of the 530+ shows that we played... If it's a bit upsetting, we're sorry, but we all feel that this is the only option that we could choose. We will all still be playing music, so be warned that you haven't seen the last of each of us.
