Cash Money

Taking their name from something that everyone wants, Chicago duo Cash Money have begun their crusade to save rock and roll. Well, kind of. They rock hard, if that's what you mean. They are known for being very much a live band. The full experience is in thier live show. Volume. Guitar. Drums. Height. Pans. Bacon Fry. It's all there. No need for a bass, it would just get in the way.

Sure there are many bands with similar arrangements, but upon further investigation, their sheer riffiness and groove cuts through all the bullshit and hype. This ain't genocide, this is rock and Roll! You will not find any of that Hey-look-at-me-I'm-cute-in-tight-trousers baloney. Cash Money mixes traditional country, blues and heavy rock to come up with their own live sound.

John used to play in God and Texas, which had four albums out and numerous singles. They used to call Restless Records home. he plays guitars and sings. A '72 Gretsch Tennessean which plays better after it was broken is currently his favorite. He is known for nice hair, Memphis vocals and sometimes goes byi "the sheriff". Scott plays a three piece drum set, pans and anger. He has found that cast iron pans hold up and sound the best. He has never seen Led Zeppelin live.

Black Hearts and Broken Wills is their debut full-length. Fellow Chicagoan and Mekon Jon Langford committeed their image in oil for the cover. The album was produced and mastered by Mr.Brian Deck of Red Red Meat. They have played with such luminaries as Shellac, Girls Against Boys, Los Straightjackets and recently toured with Man or Astro-Man? and The Delta 72. Due to their small accompaniment, Cash Money can play virtually anywhere, anytime and have the station wagon gassed up to prove it, focusing and specializing on live shows.
