The Snow Abides will be of particular interest to Antony & The Johnsons' fans, as this is Antony's first new material since 2005's Mercury award-winning I Am A Bird Now which catapulted him into the hearts and minds of the mainstream.

The Snow Abides is also Michael's most accomplished and poignant work to date, solo or otherwise, and is presented on beautiful snow-white coloured heavy-weight vinyl and delux digipak CD.

Vinyl also includes an extra B-side 'untitled' track that is specially cut into the centre of the disc

.

A few words about the album from Antony Hegarty- "A couple of years ago, David Tibet drew me into a collaboration between himself and Michael Cashmore on a project that has become Snow Abides by Michael Cashmore. Michael is well-known in certain circles for creating many of the musical themes for Current 93's output in recent years, including the beautiful Soft Black Stars. We pursued a small series of songs in a similar vein to this, building on stories from Michael's life at the time. I love Michael's sense of melody, it is intensely melancholy, like a forgotten English garden; all the trees and flowers are crying. His songs are very pretty and uniformly heart-rending. It was easy to find ways to sing through the arrangements he had made, improvising from texts written by Tibet. David is one the greatest poets of our time; it was a satisfying project ot be a part of. The recordings sound quiet and magical to me now". - Antony. February 2007
