Jonn Lunfford plays
guitar, Lisa Jackson plays drums.
They both sing. This is the line-up of The Crabs.
Two people, no bass and the sweetest sounding vocals ever.
They hail from Portland,Oregon. Jonn was previously in The Pounding Serfs.
The original incarnation of The Crabs was some time ago in Anacortes, Washington. Jonn, one time Pounding Serf, wanted to form a surf band playing drums and call it The Crabs. He teamed up with friend Brian Elliot of Gravel and messed around for a bit.
Next, Jonn moved south and hooked up with Lisa, who took over the drum seat.
And that was the beginning. For Christmas,
1992, the pair recorded a tape called Christmas With The Crabs,
and gave it to their friends. This was The Crabs on their way...
Singles were to follow. Two joint releases between K Records and Anacortes based Knw-Yr-Own, a loose collective that includes Jonn's brother Brett (also ex-Beat Happening). Then there came a single on local label Soda Girl and then back to K/Knw-Yr-Own for the most recent releases.
