The band formed on January 1, 1993, when Eric, Travis, Jason and founding skinsman Steve Cummings staggered into Travis' rec room and fought off their hangovers with an unstructured jam that just kept going. They'd known each other for years; Trav is and Steve were in a high school band together, Steve and Eric grew up next door to one another, and Eric and Travis shared the same best friends when they were fifteen in the Washington DC suburbs. Jason, who went to college with Eric, is the wild card, but those two have been friends for six years now. You get the picture. Several months ago Steve left the band to pursue his career as a multi-media playground monitor. Current drummer Joe has more than adequately filled Steve's shoes, and does him one better as an amateur kickboxer in his spare time.
