Dub Narcotic

Bone Dry, Bass Hump, Superball, Rot Gut

Recorded in the middle of the Dub Narcotic Sound System's U.S. tour last September following the relesase of the Boot Party (KLP40) album, this features the classic DNSS line-up from those sessions: Todd Ranslow, bass; Brian Weber, guitar; Larry Butler, drums; Calvin Johnson, voice; Jeff Smith, organ. It is Olympia gone to Memphis Vol. Two: the result of the second Dub Narcotic Sound System session at the famed Royal Recording Studio, formerly home studio of Hi Records, still run by producer and legendary band leader Willie Mitchell. This EP was produced by the Stax Records alumni Willie Mitchell. The song "Bass Hump" features horns by Memphians Ben Cauley (a founding memeber of the Barkays), trumpet, Jack Hale (formerly of the Memphis Horns), trombone, and Lannie Mcmillan, Saxophone.
