French Toast’s first record as a three-piece – the band have enlisted Ben Gilligan (Small Doses) on second guitar & vocals – sees them continuing to hone their jagged pop with a collection of sharp, catchy riffs intertwined with melodies even more surging and compelling than those on In a Cave. Recorded with Brendan Canty (Fugazi) in April 2006, Ingleside Terrace is an irresistibly warm record, littered with delicate vocal asides and flowing, lush guitar lines.
