goon moon

Biography

Usually “side projects” offer an outlet for renowned rockers to explore sounds and approaches that they are not normally affiliated with. Case in point: Goon Moon.

Jeordie White (better known as Twiggy Ramirez to Marilyn Manson fans and the current bassist for Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle) and Chris Goss (record producer and singer for Masters Of Reality) are the nucleus of Goon Moon. These two started jamming together and penning songs for fun after working together on Josh Homme's 'Desert Sessions Volume's 9 + 10'.

White brought along Zach Hill of Hella to join in. With no expectations or pressure from a record label, the trio recorded a vast amount of songs by early 2005. From this pool of songs, they assembled a ten-song EP /I Got A Brand New Egg Layin’ Machine/ (the title comes from an episode of the TV show 'Green Acres'), released on Suicide Squeeze in June of 2005.

Licker's Last Leg is the title of Goon Moon's upcoming full-length album on Ipecac Recordings. Twelve songs and five years in the making, it can only be described as a collage of hippie/goth/retro sounds, covering a period from the 70's through to the early 00's. Helping them out on this record are Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age), Josh Freese (The Vandals / Devo / A Perfect Circle / NIN), Dave Catching (Eagles Of Death Metal / Mondo Generator), Whitey Kirst (Iggy Pop), and Peter Perdichizzi (The Flys).
