analog instruments from the past with sequenced sounds of the present.
Analog electronica. . . a competent, confident collision of psychodelic
drones and grooves with deep beats and obscure samples. Incorporating
analog keyboards and oscillations (Michiko Swiggs), upright bass
rhythms (Aaron Hartman, ex-Old Time Relijun) and a smattering of
samplers, turntables, theremin and guitar (K.O., who appears as
DJ on the latest Modest Mouse magnum opus and remixed Some Velvet Sidewalk on their Lowdown ep), iqu aren't merely
redefining the parameters of the drum n' bass scene, they happen to be
creating their own space within this burgeoning sonic movement.
