Jen Wood; from Seattle, Washington
was born in the year 1976, and if you
were calculating correctly that makes
her twenty- two years old. But it really
all began seven years ago right around
the time Seattle became the "pulse" of
the music industry. Jen watched countless
numbers of friends get sucked up by
corporate record labels and getting spit
out looking and feeling disfigured.

In protest to the vacuum, she and another Seattlite, MADIGAN, started the acoustic duo TATTLE TALE. In no time they were ripping up the west coast and bringing audiences to tears. They put a song on a YO-YO recordings compilation, another on a VILLA VILLA KULA compilation, a cassette on KILL ROCK STARS, an album on ST. FRANCIS and numerous singles on other smaller labels. And all around the country you could hear a ringing or a buzz, if you will, and she was there, acoustic guitar and all, and she was only sixteen.
In 1996 she headed south to Santa Cruz, California. The eleven songs on "No More Wading" (tree 07) are from that period in her life. Released originally as a cassette on her own label RADAR LIGHT, she successfully distributed 150 copies and slowly began to make a name for herself.
In June of 1997 she enlisted PETRA HADEN of THE RENTALS and THAT DOG and began recording her debut album for W.I.N. records and moved back to Seattle. In October of the same year she laid down tracks on THE BLACK HEART PROCESSION album and later that month "Getting Past the Static" hit the streets and a wave of publicity followed.
