"Yo odd nosdam ... everytime I see you, you're playing with that dumb guitar, if you want to make money, you want to get a record deal, you've got to make music that the street can relate to."

...And so begins "no more wig for ohio", the first full length by odd nosdam on the anticon label, with which he is so deeply affiliated. odd nosdam, or Dave Madson to his mum, brought himself up listening to Nirvana riffs and recycling them into his own loops. He developed into a deft, if eccentric, sonic collagist and beat compiler. He worked with Greenthink, until they took him on as a full time member and they became cLOUDDEAD. He has produced alias and many other anticon-ites as well as designing the majority of the artwork for the label.

And so to the music. What nosdam creates is a unique mixture of the surreal samples of Mixmaster Mike (though perhaps slightly more deranged) and laid back, jazzy beats akin to his work as a collaborator. A diverse range of influences from the Flying Saucer Attack to RZA to Hood leap out at the listener.

The album is separated into two parts. The first tracks, 1-11, are a razor-sharp piss-take on the world around the artist - an orgy of church hymns and infomercials. The record's second half (tracks 12-24), in all its sick-drum sweet-tone eeriness, reveals a bit of nosdam's human desperation with some of the hardest beats he has ever unleashed upon a sound wave trespasser's ears. Perfect for headphones, grind dancing, and formal get-togethers of all kinds.
