Chapel Hill, North Carolina's POLVO possess quite an interesting and
dynamic sound in these guitar-band laden nineties. They don't just hand
you pre programmed sets of
verse-chorus-verse "off the peg" formula songs.
Instead they concentrate on an overall feel and texture in their music,
utilizing structure in the loosest of ways. It is this uniqueness of
sound that has made POLVO one of the more celebrated bands in today's
underground.
POLVO like kung fu movies and they like to play nicely out of tune...
POLVO are:
- Eddie Watkins - drums
- Ash Bowie - guitar/vocals (Ash also plays in Helium)
- Steve Popson - bass
- Dave Brylawski - guitar/vocals
Eddie Watkins left the band before they recorded Shapes. This may be there last record. . .
