"The idea that music is available on the Web is the most exciting thing
that has happened since the affordable home cassette recorder. I
purposely put a song here which is not on the CD. Composers,
musicians, singers, poets and others who wish to produce
interesting sounds to be heard by others are now able to reach out to
the whole planet, effectively breaking the monopoly of the few. The
listener should be able to choose for him/herself and not be limited
to radio playlists or top sellers in the store." -- Randy Resnick
Randy Rare Resnick has toured and recorded with John Lee Hooker, John
Mayall, Don Sugarcane Harris (in the Pure Food and Drug Act), Freddy King
and other blues stars. Lee Ritenour wrote in Guitar Player Magazine that
Randy "was the first guitarist I ever saw who based his whole style on
tapping". That was in 1974 at the Whiskey in Hollywood.
Randy also has a new solo CD, "To Love" on the new Resmo Musique label. The recording sessions took place in Northern and Southern California, Fresno and Paris, France. Randy also plays guitar synthesizer, which is featured on other songs of the CD.
The CD also features musicians such as Larry Taylor, who has played with everyone from Canned Heat (Woodstock), Tom Waits, John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds) etc. and former Tower Of Power rhythm section Victor Conte (bass) and Ron E. Beck (drums), who got together for the first time in several years, just for these sessions. Bassist Conte and keyboardist Nate Ginsberg, who also plays on the CD, toured with the Herbie Hancock Monster Band in the 80's.
The CD will be available in Summer 1995.
