After a two year hiatus, Rudimentary Peni return with The Underclass EP. Taking hardcore and heavy punk rock as far as they can, whilst keeping it short, simple and memorable, they get through a whopping twelve tracks in just over 15 minutes. That's the deal - they write fifteen minutes of material in two years because they only want the best possible music to be released, not the usual dross lesser achievers record to fill up albums.

Like all other Rudimentary Peni releases, The Underclass EP covers a wide variety of themes - tracks such as No Other Truth, Choice of Evils and Clandestine Harem deal with the idea of social exclusion whilst the others cover everyday things like self-image, death, conception the question of fantasy versus reality. Each of these ideas is explored on an urgency principle - a message to be communicated with no time wasted.

The line-up of the band has remained stable due to the lack of death amongst the members. However, in a return to their early days, Grant has written all the lyrics and riffs. Still as innovative and inspirational as when they began, Rudimentary Peni remain the essential twisted-punk band.
