SHORTY have broken up. It breaks my heart to say, but it's true. After a
month long and very successful tour of Europe (lots of shows with buddies
THE DIDJITS), bass player Luke Frantom
found that job obligations would keep him from touring, forcing him to
leave the band. So ultimately the band has decided to call it quits. The
bands swan song, the "Fresh Breath" 10" EP/CDEP/CSEP was released
as testimony to their greatness. As a special bonus, MOUNT SHASTA's John Forbes contributes
backing
vocals on the final track "Really Pointy". Mark Shippy SHORTY's guitarist
recently completed a short comic chronicalling one of their adventures on
the European tour for SOUTHERN's newsletter (number?). And to end this
on a good note, Al and Mark can now be found playing in the wonderful US MAPLE. Check them out!
