only takes a few seconds of listening to the Softies to realize
that there is nothing comparable to the beauteous harmonies of Rose
and Jen. Their angelic voices and perfectly harmonized guitar will
win a space in even the coldest heart after just one listen. These two
lovely ladies play heartache and longing with the ultimate finesse. The
delicate sweet voices and jangly guitar chime effortless pop songs about
love and its demise. Crisp, clear and enchanting, it's amazing how much
these two acheive with so little (guitars only--no bass or drums to distract
the listener).
Rose at one time played guitar and sang for the the Sacramento band Tiger Trap. She now plays with her pals Paul and Amy (of Henry's Dress) in Go Sailor. Jen also has punk rock roots, playing in the Santa Rosa band Pretty Face and producing the much loved "Sparkly Kitty Sticker" fanzine.
