The band formed in 1990, have released two independent cassettes, three 7" singles, three full length recordings, and appeared on several compilations. Their latest full length recording will be available March 3, 1998 on Ba Da Bing! and is called The Spiny Anteaters' Last Supper. (A limited edition of 500 LPs are also available from the Baby Universe label.) On The Spiny Anteaters' Last Supper the band has assembled music from studio and radio sessions, live recordings and other places into a tightly knit collage. In doing this they have made an album which places as much focus on the texture, tone and flow of the music as on its content. The end result is a heady mix of discordant pop songs, noise workouts and tape collage.
The
Spiny Anteaters have just finished a collaboration with Canadian sonic
pioneer Nash the Slash and the results of this collaboration will
appear
on
a compilation CD to be released by Ba Da Bing! in the Spring of 1998.
