The four crazy guys claim to have met during the "uneventful" fall of 1998 in Iowa City, Iowa. Those that know them and their music well, they argue that time *had* to be far from uneventful! You'll understand exactly why within the first minute of listening to their debut album on SOUTHERN Records, "This Is The Way To Rule".

In the beginning, they were known as The Vidablue and began taking the Midwest (and later, the entire country) by storm - unleashing their incredibly powerful music and ripping live performances upon those who came to bare witness. In between feverish gigging and record making, they ate innumerable buffets, watched a ton of movies, made a zillion jokes and wasted many hours emailing or calling each other about the band.

Following several years of releases and sharing the stage with the likes of GVSB, Shiner, US Maple and the Blood Brothers, The Vidablue found themselves being beckoned by a fellow in a nationally well-known band who wanted their name...and wanted it BADLY! After much discussion, they went with the flow and agreed to change their name to what you know them as today, Ten Grand.

" This Is The Way To Rule" is about music...Ten Grand's way. Clever, sharp and abrasive' yet melodic enough you'll find yourself with that last bit playing over and over and over in your mind! Ten Grand falls between...not quite punk...not quite hardcore. They combine the intricacies of schooled Indie Rock delivered with a punk punch that still kicks you in the ass! This band is one of the Midwest's best-kept secrets! Think the Nerve Agents without the goth...think the emotion of The Blood Brothers...think whatever you want - just don't be surprised when we say "We Told You So"!
