16. Las Mordidas - 2 song 7" Chris Thomson (ex-Circus Lupus) and former members of Fidelity Jones and Beefeater teaming up for a rocking debut. Split release with Dischord.


17. Derelict Hotel - Powerwalk/Lucky Strike - 7" Oh those hard rocking boys are at it again. Best sounding record from them yet.

25. Bardo Pond - Dragonfly - New 2-song 7" The superfuzz is the shit! Now they're on Matador, so get the 7" that made heads turn.


27. Latimer - 7" Three-song release from yet another great Philly band. Includes a track with 9 saxophone overdubs. Follows up on their own 7" release in 1994 and a 10" and full length on World Domination.


28. Emma - gorgeous double 7" from this new Philly band. Reminds one a bit of the happy Pavement songs.


30. Gel Caps - 7" debut Five Song 7" from Philly's biggest flying saucer lovers. Space noise/distortion that's surprisingly dance-y!


31. Hobart - 7" Some people may say that Bryan only put this out because it's his brother's band. Shit. He's lucky. Small labels were fist-fighting each other for the goods on this debut 7". Heavy pop-rock.


32. Rupert Speed - 7" Admit it. You like rock. The two slices on this debut 7" from ex-members of Dead Spot make Henry Rollins look like Don Rickles.


33. Suffacox - Nazi Mother - 7" Wayne Hamilton of Vibralux fame and JT (The JT of Origional Sins) commit more blue-collar crimes to bring you a new 7" complete with a 7 x 7 refrigerator magnets.

23. Compulsiv Comp #3 - 7" Third in this 7" series brings on a heavy pop feel with Guv'ner, Bugskull, Marmalade, and Tsunami. Packaged with a neato self-stick cover that holds on any glass surface!


35. Mel's Rockpile - Trestle - 7" Second from Philly's most glamourous rock band. Very nice Judith Schecter cover.


38. Hobart - Mama's Hungry Eyes - 7" Second 7" from this Philly band shows that these guys really know how to lick ass. Any song that says "and I ain't apologizing for nothing" is good enough for me.


37. Caterpillar - Macdorium Chlorium Chloe - CD Second full-length shows everyone just how creative and fresh Caterpillar can be. Unpredictable songs take musical turns at full speed, but the melody always shines through.


39. Stinking Lizaveta - Hopelessness and Shame. - CD Wow! 14 songs from Philly's powerful instrumental three-pieces in the style of Breadwinner, recently dubbed one of the twelve "Indie Rock Bands That Matter" by Request magazine.


44. Gel Caps - 24-Hour Pythons - CD Get out of that spaceship and fight, man. Rock from Philly's space bosses, that emphasizes more catchy rock a la Vibralux and less plain old noise.
