Founded by Detroit Native Zak Einstein in 1994, and having built a catalog that boasts nearly a hundred titles, Thick has consistently released distinctive and requisite records. Early releases from the likes of The Blue Meanies, Truly, and Season To Risk, as well as an amazing picture disc vinyl series that includes records from At The Drive-In, Citizen Fish, ALL, and the Alkaline Trio, highlight Thick's eclectic 9 year history.
Thick Records continues to adhere to an underground ethic, a D.I.Y philosophy of relevance, integrity, and community. Today, the label's roster includes the best of the best: from Chicago's celtic-punks The Tossers, to the turbulent and tumultuous Local H, and pop punk heroes The Methadones. Other THICK staples include Sullen, Goldblade, The Arrivals, Tom Daily, and The Gadjits. New releases from the Michigan space rock outfit Calliope, the dynamic and dramatic Haymarket Riot, and new-comers New Black and Motel Blonde (featuring members of the GC5 and Dropkick Murphys) are scheduled for early 2004.
