WEIRD FACES / Sue Loder
I was experimenting with textures in etching. I made a plate out of a bit of cardboard with textures
by scratching and using acrylic primer and a palette knife. I inked up the plate and took a print.
As I was studying the print I began to see weird faces had appeared all by themselves.
I rushed to the photocopier
and enlarged the images. Sure enough, there were weird faces. At a photo etch workshop I took several of these images
and transferred them onto small zinc plates. These are the results I got.
I still cant quite see how these almost believable faces just appeared out of nowhere
I hadn't drawn them!.
